The ‘Beef’ Season 2 Cast Makes Up One Big Dysfunctional Work Family
I have zero beef with these casting choices.
Ready to barbecue up the new season of Beef? It’s been three years since Steven Yeun and Ali Wong blew us out of the way with the explosive series. But like other popular anthology shows these days, including The White Lotus and Fargo for example, the second season is a completely new story. Here’s everything you need to know about the cast and characters of Beef Season 2.
The first season of Beef was all about a road rage incident in the suburbs. The second begins with a domestic dispute. The characters, played by the cast of actors Lee Sung Jin assembled, make up the staff and members of a country club. Tensions are high, even at places designed to be relaxing!
Oscar Isaac plays Josh Martin
Josh is the general manager of a country club.
Isaac is a Golden Globe winning as well as Independent Spirit and SAG award nominated actor for shows like Show Me A Hero, Scenes From A Marriage, and films like Inside Llewyn Davis and Frankenstein. He starred in Alex Garland’s Ex Machina and A Most Violent Year as well. You might also know him as the titular Moon Knight from the Marvel series, Timmy’s dad in Dune, or as Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequel movies. He’s also a stage actor and was nominated for a Tony Award in 2023 for The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window.

Carey Mulligan plays Lindsay Crane Martin
Lindsay is the club’s interior decorator and Josh’s wife.
Mulligan has worked with Isaac before on two other occasions: Inside Llewyn Davis and Drive. But she’s even better known for her Academy Award nominated performances in An Education, Promising Young Woman, and Maestro as well as Mudbound, The Great Gatsby, Shame, She Said, and Far from the Madding Crowd. On the television front, she was in a famous episode of Doctor Who called “Blink” and the BBC miniseries adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Bleak House. She was also nominated for a Tony, in 2015, NBD.
Charles Melton plays Austin Davis
Austin is a personal trainer and Ashley’s new fiancé.
Melton went from taking Reggie Mantle to some wild new places on the final season of Riverdale to critical acclaim and a Golden Globe nomination for his supporting role in Todd Haynes’ May December. He played the lead in the 2019 romance The Sun Is Also a Star. Melton is in a great episode of Poker Face as well, and Garland’s It Boy ensemble film Warfare. In 2026, you can see him in the already buzzy Nicolas Winding Refn film Her Private Hell.

Cailee Spaeny plays Ashley Miller
Ashley is a “cart girl” a.k.a. a bartender on the golf course.
Like Melton, Spaeny also starred in a Garland film, Civil War. She has been on a roll lately as well, with Wake Up Dead Man, Alien: Romulus, and of course Priscilla–which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. You might remember her from Bad Times at the El Royale, On The Basis of Sex, or Mare of Eastown as well. Her upcoming roles include the romance Deep Cuts with Drew Starkey and Ariela Barer as well as a live-action Elden Ring film.

Youn Yuh-jung plays Chairwoman Park
Chairwoman Park is the new owner of the country club.
Youn is an icon of Korean film with more awards than you can count whose credits include Woman on Fire, The Housemaid, The Bacchus Lady, Canola, The Taste of Money, and Dog Days. In 2021 she crossed the ocean to star in Lee Isaac Chung’s Minari, and walked away with a BAFTA, SAG, Independent Spirit and Academy Award. Piece of cake! You might also recognize her from recent roles including the 2025 remake of The Wedding Banquet and the Apple TV+ series Pachinko.
Song Kang-ho plays Dr. Kim
Kim is Chairwoman Park’s husband and a surgeon.
Song is perhaps best known to Western audiences for his collaborations with Director Bong, a.k.a. Bong Joon-ho, in films that include the Best Picture winner Parasite, Snowpiercer, and The Host. He is also an iconic and incredibly influential Korean film star. His award-winning performances include the films Memories of Murder, Broker, Taxi Driver, Secret Sunshine, The Show Must Go On, The Attorney, and Thirst. He also recently starred in the Hulu series Uncle Samsik.
Seoyeon Jang plays Eunice
Eunice is Chairwoman Park’s interpreter and assistant.
Prior to Beef, Korean actress Seyeon had recurring roles in Good Partner and Butterfly and appeared in other shows like Emergency Declaration, Love is for Suckers, and Snowdrop.

William Fichtner plays Troy
Troy is a country club member in a relationship with Ava.
Last year, Fichtner played an eccentric (when are they not) vampire on the Interview with the Vampire spin-off Talamasca: The Secret Order. His television credits include The Company You Keep, Mom, Entourage, Prison Break, and As The World Turns. He was on the latter for 79 episodes over almost ten years! On the big screen, you’ve also seen him in Strange Days, Heat, Crash, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, The Longest Yard and Black Hawk Down.
Mikaela Hoover plays Ava
Ava is a member at the club.
Hoover was a scene-stealer as Cat Grant in 2025’s Superman and has worked with James Gunn on other films that include Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 and The Suicide Squad. She is part of the One Piece cast on Netflix, playing Tony Tony Chopper.

Matthew Kim plays Woosh
Woosh is a tennis instructor at the club.
Matthew Kim is also a rapper and vocal artist known as Big Matthew or BM and a member of the co-ed group Kard. This is his first major acting role!
